Garlic

Garlic was our first crop at Lavender Hive Depot, and it's been a fun one to grow!

We planted just under 1,000 cloves in the fall of 2025, choosing two varieties: Inchelium Red and Nootka Rose. By June, we were harvesting our first crop.

There's something pretty satisfying about pulling garlic out of the ground after watching it grow for eight months. Of course, growing it is only part of the process. We've also been learning how to cure, clean, store, and braid it.

We sell our garlic at local farmers markets, both as individual bulbs and handmade braids. We've also started experimenting with dehydrating and grinding garlic for future products.

We'll be planting again this fall, and we're looking forward to seeing what our second season brings.
